Japanese Government Bond (JGB) refers to any bond issued by the government of Japan. Interest is paid on the bond and the full price of the bond is returned to the bondholder at the maturity date. These bonds are backed by the full faith and credit of the government, have high levels of liquidity and are considered relatively low risk.
