Market Breadth

Market Breadth Definition

Market Breadth is a method used in technical analysis that defines the direction of the market by analyzing the number of companies advancing relative to the number declining. The market breadth is positive when more companies are moving higher than are moving lower. This parameter helps investors to reduce the impact of the large cap stocks that influence market indices the most, and instead analyzes price trends of a diverse range of stocks.
