Reassessment

Reassessment Definition

This tax term refers to the process by which property values are annually re-evaluated by an assessor.  The value calculated by the assessor is then used as the basis for determining the amounts to be paid or assessed for tax or insurance purposes.  Property owners can also request a reassessment if they disagree with an original assessment.
