Technical Correction

Technical Correction Definition

An adjustment to price of a specific security or the overall market following a period of extensive price increases. The change is not based on market sentiment but on technical factors. A technical correction does not take place because the price increases were unwarranted, it is usually caused by investors who have temporarily slowed securities purchases.
