The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is responsible for the First District of the Federal Reserve, which covers Connecticut (excluding Fairfield County), Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. It is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Its president is Cathy E. Minehan.


The Boston Fed is in a distinctive 604-foot tall, 33-story building, located at 600 Atlantic Avenue in Boston. The building, designed by architecture firm Hugh Stubbins & Associates, is suspended between two towers on either side.
