Future interest Definition

In property law and real estate, a future interest - often called qualified estates or dead hand control - is where title to property in transfered conditionally. Historically, the commmon law has frowned on the use future interests as it interfers with the owners' enjoyment of their property and as such has made it difficult to create a valid future interest.
