Loan-To-Cost Ratio

Loan-To-Cost Ratio Definition

Refers to the ratio of the price paid for an asset to the value of the loan that finances its purchase. The ratio is often used in real estate construction projects in order to compare the amount of the loan financing the project to the building costs. The LTC helps real estate lenders assess the risk of a construction loan. The higher LTC ratio indicates higher risk.
