Oil Reserves

Oil Reserves Definition

Oil Reserves refers to an estimate of the amount of crude oil located in a region. Oil reserves must have the possibility of being extracted with existing technologies. If oil pools can be found at unattainable depths, they are not considered part of the reserves. The total estimated amount of oil in an oil reservoir, including both producible and non-producible oil, is called “oil in place”.
