Operating Costs

Operating Costs Definition

Operating Costs are expenses incurred in running a business. These types of costs do not include capital outlays, or interest expenses on a loan. Operating costs are fixed costs ( e.g. overhead) and variable costs (e.g. materials). Fixed costs do not significantly vary according to the number of products while variable costs depend on the number of goods produced.
