Regional Fund Definition

Regional Fund refers to a mutual fund that focuses to investments in securities from a certain geographical area. A regional fund invests in a diversified portfolio of stocks in its specified area. Some regional funds can also be set up to invest in a specific industry, such as energy. These funds are useful for the average investor, as  they allow a diversification of the portfolio across many investments in a region without having to invest large amounts of money.
