Retail Investor Definition
Retail Investor is an individual who purchases small amounts of securities for his or her personal account, and not on behalf of another entity. Retail investors invest smaller amounts of money than larger institutional investors. Some financial instruments require minimum investment amounts, therefore they discourage retail investors.
