Same-Store Sales

Same-Store Sales Definition

A retail figure, this term is also known as “comps.”  It compares sales of stores open for a year or more.  This number allows investors to figure out which part of new sales comes from sales growth and what part comes from the opening of new stores.  In the retail sector, same store sales are usually published monthly.
