Sushi Bond

Sushi Bond Definition

Sushi Bond means a bond issued by a Japanese issuer outside of Japan. These bonds are denominated in a currency other than the Japanese yen and are outside the jurisdiction of the Bank of Japan. Sushi bonds are typically bought by institutional investors in Japan, because they do not count against Japanese companies' limits on foreign investment.
