Term Fed Funds

Term Fed Funds Definition

Term Fed Funds are funds that banks borrow from the Federal Reserve System for a period of more than one day but less than 90 days. Banks purchase these funds when their borrowing needs will last for several days and wish to benefit from a low interest rate in a rising rate environment.

Additional meaning of Term Fed Funds:

Term Fed funds may have higher interest rates than overnight federal funds, but their rate is still  lower than an individual borrower would pay.
