Trading Book

Trading Book Definition

Trading Book is an accounting book that includes the portfolio of financial instruments held by a financial institution. The book contains information about all the securities that the brokerage or bank buys and sells on the stock market. All securities are listed that are currently held by the institution, and the history of buying and selling transactions is recorded in the book as well. Therefore the trading book is a resource that tracks all investment activity made by the institution.
