Finance in general refers to the management of money. It deals with resource management, acquisition and investment; and is usually carried out by institutions, governments or companies. Finance includes management of cash, capital, instruments and markets set up for transacting assets, liabilities and risks.

Corporate finance is focused on money management of businesses. It deals with the financial operation of the company and includes monetary decisions, as well as tools used to make these decisions. Its aim is to raise money for various projects and acquisitions.
